The "Cambridge Workshops on Cool Stars, Stellar Systems and the Sun" are held biennially and have evolved to be the premier conference series for cool star research.
Registration
Registration is currently open. Registration package prices are given below (all prices in USD). Most question can be answered in the FAQ at the bottom of this page.
- Early-bird registration: $540 (ends April 1)
- Normal registration: $600 (ends May 10)
- Late registration: $700 (ends June 3)
- Remote participant registration: $150 (ends June 3)
- Full registration: Registration price above + $100 for the banquet (includes the banquet, but does not show up itemized)
Our facilities can support about 600 attendees. Based on the previous Cool Stars meetings, we expect that every interested astronomer should have a chance to join in, but the only guarantee is to register early. Subscribe to our mailing list to be informed when registration opens.
Financial support
Limited financial support is available to allow students and other early career astronomers to attend CS22, if their institution cannot provide sufficient funds. Instructions to apply for travel grants can be found here. The deadline to submit the financial support application is February 25.
Registration FAQ
- What is the difference between "standard" and "full" registration?
The "standard" registration only covers the cost of conference registration. The "full" registration includes everything in the "standard" registration, and also includes our conference banquet. Both of these registrations will show up as a single line item on your invoice to make reimbursement easier if you choose to attend the banquet.
- Can I add additional guests to the banquet and excursions?
Yes, you will be able to add additional guests. Be aware that our excursions and banquet have strict capacity limits and if we cannot accommodate all the members in your group you will be excluded from that activity.
- Can I modify my registration later if I want to add/remove things?
Yes, you will be able to modify your registration until we have to finalize reservations.
- Can I cancel my registration for a full refund?
Yes, you will be able to cancel for a
- 100% refund less a $25 processing fee if you cancel by May 10, 2024
- 50% refund less a $25 processing fee if you cancel between May 11, 2024–June 1, 2024
- No refunds after June 1, 2024
- Should I register if I am applying for a conference grant?
No, we ask that you wait until decisions are made regarding conference grants before you register. All applicants will be informed before the close of early registration.
- Can I pay for registration using a bank transfer/IBAN?
Yes, we have a process for this. You can register through our registration portal and someone will follow-up with you regarding how to complete the bank transfer.
- What if I need an invitation letter to process my Visa application?
You can fill out this Google Form with your invitation so we can process a letter on your behalf. We will also provide a letter of Participant Attendance for all in-person attendees.
